FALL 2024 AUDITIONS FOR SPRING  2025 THEATRE PRODUCTIONS

NOVEMBER 18-19, 2024!

The  Department of Theatre will host general auditions for upcoming productions (Spring 2025)  Nov. 18-19, 2024. In alignment with the Department’s Inclusive Casting Resolution, we strongly encourage all students including our BIPOC and LGBTQIA students to audition. Theatre majors and non-majors as well as all current students regardless of declared major are eligible to audition.

  • When: Mon., Nov. 18: 5:30-9:30; Tues., Nov. 19: 6-9:30, Callbacks: Nov. 20-28

Silent Sky by Lauren Gunderson

  • Directed by Sarah Behrend-Wilcox
  • Rehearsals begin Jan 6
  • Performance Dates: Feb 14-Feb 23
  • Venue: University Theatre

The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee: music and lyrics by William Finn, book by Rachel Sheinkin

  • Directed by Morgan Hicks, Music direction by Jason Burrow
  • Rehearsals begin Feb 17
  • Performance Dates: April 11-April 20
  • Venue: Global Campus Black Box Theatre

STEP ONE: PREPARE

  • Prepare your audition package including headshot and current resume Prepare 2 contrasting monologues - totaling up to 3 minutes in length OR 1 monologue and 1 Song totaling 3 minutes in length
  • Scripts for each play will be available in the Theatre Office (619 Kimpel) or in a Department Box Folder with UARK sign-in required for access: https://uark.box.com/s/br0lc3jy5lgvp2mxiruhbe1fzs369uep
  • If you would like to sing from the show, you are welcome to use one of the audition cuts found in the BOX folder but are not required to do so. These will be the cuts for the callbacks as well.
