Auditions for Spring  2026 Theatre Productions

Monday, November 17, 2025!

The  Department of Theatre will  hold general auditions on Monday, November 17th  at Global Campus Theatre. Call-backs will begin the evening of Tuesday, Nov 18th through Friday, November 21st.  Please plan to be available evenings of the entire week for call-backs and potential workshops. In alignment with the Department’s Inclusive Casting Resolution, we strongly encourage all students to audition--theatre majors and non-majors as well as all current students regardless of declared major are eligible to audition.

    • Call-backs: Nov. 18-21 (5:30-10pm, please hold all available time for callbacks)

ARKTYPE NEW WORKS FESTIVAL 

Both shows with run in the repertory model Feb 26-March 8.  Exact performance schedule to be determined. 

Wildflower Season by Connor Johnson
    • Directed by Leigh Fondakowski (Guest director from Tectonic Theater Project)
    • Rehearsals begin Sunday, Feb 1
    • Performance Dates: February 26-March 8

Camp Wyldwood by Basil Parnell
    • Directed by Njideka Agwuna (Guest director from Tectonic Theater Project)
    • Rehearsals begin Sunday, February 1
    • Performance Dates: February 26-March 8

    • Note: If you would like to use a monologue from one of the new plays, monologues from each play can be found in the BOX folder, but this is completely optional and you are not required to do so.

Peter and the Starcatcher by  Rick Elice
  • Directed by David Reed, Music direction by Jason Burrow
  • Rehearsals begin Monday Jan. 12
  • Performance Dates: April 10-19
  • Venue: UT Theatre

STEP ONE: PREPARE

  • For your audition package, please prepare either 2 contrasting monologues totaling up to 3 minutes in length OR to be considered for Peter and the Starcatcher one monologue and 30-60 seconds of any song that will highlight your singing and acting abilities. You may use a recorded accompaniment track (a speaker with aux cord will be provided) or bring sheet music in a binder to be accompanied on the piano.

  • PLEASE NOTE:
    During the Spring of 2025, we will be experimenting with some new models of rehearsal schedules.  Please pay attention to the schedules and plan your spring class schedules accordingly.  
    • For Wildflower Season and Camp Wyldwood, rehearsals will be 6 days a week (Sunday through Friday) with 6-10pm weekday rehearsals and Sunday hours TBD.  
    • For Peter and the Starcatcher, rehearsals will take place on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 3:30–7:30 PM, beginning on January 12th. Continuing this schedule until load-in and tech week, at which point we’ll shift to a five-day-per-week format through the tech process.  If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to David Reed whose office is in Kimple 614 or email dar004@uark.edu
